Have you noticed the newest fat loss and diet trend?
Blogs that promote the astounding weight loss results of the latest superfood Brazilian berry and cleanse.
What was most surprising to me, is the fact that one of the sites is using the before and after photo of a
Fit Yummy Mummy testimonial.
To avoid threats of a law suit, I have been advised to not share the actual names of the individuals or the website….however, I will show you this.

The before and after belly in these photos is one of our very own Fit Yummy Mummy’s!
And yes, she has been part of a scam before….
Facebook Fat Loss Scam
This is the Real Woman behind these photos….her name is Maria Simpson –
not a name that starts with a J - and she is the amazing mother of 5 children (10, 8, 5, 3, and 1 year old) and lives in Idaho –
not a mom of 3, living in Seattle, as claimed in J’s Fat Loss and Diet Story Blogs.

This is the original Before and After Photo….notice how it has been photoshopped in the “diet blog ads” in an attempt to hide the truth.

I am not here to say whether a certain superfood berry or cleansing product is or is not legit.
The purpose of this post is to increase your awareness of the
faulty claims and fictitious testimonials that are abundant on the internet.
Please, just be careful!
I’ve notice that especially around the holidays, we are ALL desperate for an easy weight loss solution to just help us get through this chaotic season and not feel uncomfortable and overweight.
While the choice is ultimately up to you it is my hope that you will think twice before you decide.
How To Spot a Scam
No matter how glorified the “program” or “product” appears to be, you can feel confident in turning away if it has one or more of the following traits…
* Promises or Guarantees rapid weight loss.
Any weight loss of more than 2 pounds per week is too rapid, unsafe, and is highly unlikely to be permanent weight loss.
* All you need to do is
get the Free Trial
Claiming that weight loss is achieved during the Free Trial and all you spend a few dollars for shipping.
Read the terms and conditions: Trial period is 15 days….after which you will be billed anywhere from $30 to $90 for a recurring monthly supply of the product.
* Promises easy weight loss without exercise or that weight loss can be maintained without lifestyle changes – this means, you do not have to change how you eat, how you move or how you think….and you will still lose??
* Uses miracle super foods or drinks.
No food or drink can melt away fat or undo years of overeating and a lack of effective exercise.
* It’s basis lies in restricting what you eat.
From asking you to consume less than 1,000 calories to asking that you consume only one (or a limited number) of foods – BIG red flag if the foods you are asked not to eat are whole, natural foods – or encourages consuming certain types foods in mass quantities. A sound nutrition plan is one that is balanced and includes a variety of healthful foods.
* Your results hinge on the use of unproven weight loss aids such as herbs, appetite suppressants, fat burning supplements, body wraps, pills, cellulite creams, etc.
* Sounds too good to be true.
We are women. We were born with an innate trait called Intuition. This is that initial gut feeling you have about something….and if it is in any way a negative-not-so-sure feeling…Listen to your gut.
Just so everyone is clear – there is no magic bullet, instant cure, or easy way out.
True Fat Loss Results are not quick, mindless nor “easy”.

Hi Holly,
I just wanted to thank you for the email on the Acai Berry/Cleanse scam today. I admit that I actually ordered them to try. And all it has done has caused me TOTAL AGGREVATION. Since then, I have been getting all these “related” charges on my bank account. I guess by ordering the trials of both………that it signs you up for all of these other memberships that I totally had no idea about or even saw. Luckily I noticed them on my bank statement and have been calling every day to cancel something and DEMAND a refund. There is still one company that charged me $89.31 for something, and they STILL HAVE NOT refunded my money. I call them every day and it just seems like they are giving me the run a round. That’s alot of money to me and it’s almost Christmas. I now have to check my bank every day to see if there is another “unknown” charge.
(( Is it going to end??
So to see your email today, I am very grateful that you are well informed and make sure that your website and testimonials are all true.
Hopefully, I will get all of my money back, and this will stop soon. I think on one of my phone calls, I actually told them I was going to call the police!! LOL
I should have just stuck with your plan and ordered it. Hopefully soon, when I get my refunds.
)
Thanks so much, and have a wonderful Christmas!!

OMG! I just ordered these products last weekend! They haven’t even arrived yet. I just ran across your website & signed up to receive your emails. I will call tomorrow & cancel my orders. Maybe I should give your program a try but I am so tired of spending money & time on programs that don’t work or are too hard to stick to with 2 kids & a full-time job.
Eboni,
Just give Hollys program a try. It is money well spent and you will not regret it. This program actually works and is easy to fit it in to your schedule. It is the 15 minutes a day that makes the rest of your day much more rewarding, for you and your family.

This may be a little off topic… but a possible health warning for certain folks. I had a kidney transplant several years ago, thus am on quite a lot of medications. I also have fibromyalgia, so some days, I struggle to find the energy to get through my busy days. I read about the Acai Berry on one of those sites, and also wanting to loose a few pounds,I thought I’d try it (I did not order through the site, but found some supplements locally). Instead of gaining vitality, over the next few weeks, I felt drained, foggy, ached, etc. My blood work showed an unusually high amount of my anti-rejection meds in my system, and a marked reduction in kidney function. There are certain fruits I know Transplant patients can’t have (Grapefruit,Pomegranate, starfruit) because they will elevate the levels of the drugs in our system. It dawned on me this acai berry may be causing my sudden problems, so I quit them , got repeat blood work done a week later, and things are getting back on track. My doctor had not heard of the berry, but is going to look into it. Too much of a coincidence for my liking! Just a heads up for those in a similar situation.
I am a holistic nutritionist and work in a health food store where we have been selling Acai capsules and juice for well over 2 years now. All it takes is a simple plug from Oprah to send the Universe into a tailspin to go shopping for the latest weight loss product. All people need to do is see how Oprah’s weight fluctuates so often to realize there is no quick fix. As we all know it comes down to a well balanced diet, exercise and a good nights sleep. Acai is just a good antioxidant that can help with many things but weight loss is not one of them. It will help rid your body of toxins but so will Goji juice, Noni juice or Mangosteen. It’s just a small piece of a large puzzle.
Good luck to everyone trying to achieve their goals.
Whoa – that is crazy Holly! FYI – I just found out that the company who sells that product has a CPA offer for affiliates. So what’s happening is that all these affiliates are jumping on this program to make money because apparently that company pays out $27 per form filled out – the person doesn’t even have to buy the product in order for the affiliate to get paid. I’m guessing they pay so well since they are unethical themselves in that they are charging people without them knowing.
There are a LOT of money-hungry, unethical affiliates out there and I’m so sorry to hear that some are stealing photos from your site. It’s happened to me too (not for this particular program), but what I ended up doing was watermarking all my photos with our website logo. That way if they want to steal, then they’ll have to promote my website!
Anyway, great job with everything! The results your clients are getting are awesome and REAL!
Holly, thanks once again for exposing the ugly diet lies out there. Fit Yummy Mummy is the ONLY way & the fact that you are so honest & open with all your members, gives the programme even more credibility. Thank you !
Hi Holly,
I would like to chime in as well regarding the Acai and Total Cleanse scam. Not only did the pills I order not show up in the mail, but I didn’t read all that fine print until after I put the order through. I printed the receipt and though okay, I’ll give them 10 days and then cancel (which was how long the free trial was for.) So I tried calling to cancel my order last night and surprise surprise the phone line either did not ring or instantly disconnected me. The credit card company gave me another number listed next to the charge on my bill and had the same problem. She told me to email them my cancellation in order to have something in writing later on down the road if I start seeing more charges on my card. This will help when trying to prove that I cancelled within the time period required. I haven’t heard back from them, but hopefully I will. I must say I feel stupid now trying to lose some extra weight this way and will just stick to the Yummy Mummy plan.
Holly,
I read your emails everyday and I find your girls and their stories truly inspiring. They deserve more than looking fantastic for all their efforts. I love your yummy mummy plan and recommend it to everyone.

I just read some scary details on the scams they are using, on this site – buyacaiberryselect.com, it’s scary and outrageous, why the authorities are not doing anything about it?
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

Hi Holly
Very interesting article. The only good way to lose weight is a healthy eating plan and exercise. I refuse to take any funny pills to try to lose weight. I am losing weight very slowly, but I enjoy it leading a healthy lifestyle. There are no magic pills. Eat healthy, exercise and you will feel like a new person.
